help reducing cost

Im being forced to buy a new computer (dont ask long story) anyhow i was looking at

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Winchester 90nm (Socket 939) £193.82
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (Socket 939) Motherboard £99.82
Corsair 512MB DDR XMS3200C2 Pro CAS2 x2 £89.30 (got 1 already)

(I Know ive got everything else from other system)

this comes to £880ish including P&P but i cant afford that and theres noway i can squeeze it so i know i need to shave sum bits off the ends. So few questions.

1) How well does the 3200 90nm amd 64 overclock? I would still like it to run at 3500 speeds without any extra noise. Thats why i have picked the very big heatsink and fan.
2)Any other Graphics card will reduce my cost be quite away i would of thought but consindering i cant find any eVGA stuff anywhere here in UK im stuck with other ones. I dont mind dropping to 6600 speeds but not much slower tbh.
3)Is that psu good and will it fit in that case? Or is there a cheaper psu that will ve as quiet?
4) any other ideas?

the 3200+ overclocks very well, all winchester's do
they use less voltage because of their smaller size, and they run cooler
a winchester should easily get to and past 2.6GHZ

I would also suggest an Nvidia 6600 GT in PCI-E rather than a 6800, and a Gigabyte K8NF-9 board, which has an Nforce4 chip that supports PCI-E

*edit* if you want to get the XP-120 heatsink, which is really good, you can get an OEM processor without the heatsink and fan, and just use the XP-120

Ok ive took into concideration what uve sed and its gone down to 690 which is still on the costly side would like to drop another £50 or something. Yes i know the Oem vesion of the chip is cheaper and thats wat i have bought before BUT that site that that is off doesnt have the oem version, only the retail

just been looking around www.scan.co.uk are doin the XFX 6600GT for 131 and the gigabyte 130 or the msi for 127. This is about wat i want to pay for a card so what do u think is the best card?

I wouldn't buy the XFX or MSI video cards, although gigabyte are pretty good
the OEM athlon 64 3200+ winchester is the first on the list of "athlon 64's"

I remember reading somewhere there is a 6600gt with 1.6ns ram, which was rated to do higher clocks than the standard 2ns ram I forgot what brand it is but if you can find a card with that ram you could overclock it nicely. As for me i don't think aopen cards are all that good all the other cards are ok, there really isn't much difference.

ok ive had a look for that 1.6ns ram and im not sure if its either just the gainward version or all versions. Anyhow this is the system:

think that about covers everything. The total cost is £640 which is not bad. il have to wait for my student loan to come through now though. If anyones got any idea that i should change something just say and il consider it. thanks
