alright, i am almost ready to put together my comp, just waiting for the x800 XL and i am set, but i am still not all that good with memory. right now i am doing these

i understand that low latency is better, but i am still not sure what the numbers really mean. also i have heard that amd 64's dont run off of 2- , and need 2.5-, is that right?

my setup-

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
CORSAIR XMS Xtra-Low Latency DDR PC-3200
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM
Ati Radeon x800 XL

I have 2-3-2-6 and it runs fine. I do have a hard time overclocking at these latencies though. Low latency memory has CL 2. Medium stuff has 2.5. Stay away from CL 3 at all cost!

there is a very small difference between latencies in DDRRAM, they made a big difference in SIMM's, and a small but noticable difference in SDRAM, but there is about 4% performance difference between PC3200 at 2-2-2-5 and PC3200 at 3-3-3-8
