d:\ is not accessible the device is not ready.
a: is not accessible the device is not ready.

i finally got this older pc up and running. now i run into this. everything else is working o.k. how to i get these going.

try putting a disk and or floppy into them then try again.... Also is this being done through DOS or Windows.

i put several disks in the d drive and nothing.

It might be the jumper setting on the D: drive.
If it is the only drive on the IDE channel put it to MASTER or Cable select if your motherboard supports it. And if their is another CD drive on the IDE make one of them Master and the other one Slave. Other then that I don't know what is wrong with it I would have to see it in person to tell you what is wrong, and that is not possible to do.
