6600GT vs. 6800

I've read so many times various threads how the 6600GT beats the vanilla 6800 in benchmarks. I don't know why everyone keeps saying this, but it's simply not true. I just wanted to provide some benchmarks to straighten this out. Check out this Tom's Hardware article. Don't get me wrong, I still think the 6600GT is a better bang for your buck. The difference in benchmarks isn't big enough to justify the price difference, but for the sake of accuracy, the 6800 does indeed outperform the 6600GT.

who told you that?!?! of course the vanilla 6800 outperforms the 6600GT! everyone knows that. the question tho is how much are people willing to shell out for a video card?
i'm looking at a 6600GT AGP to replace my old and slow 9500 pro

6800Gt Definitely Outperformes a 6800gt - Only in certain benchmarks the 6600gt will win - but overall the 6800 will be ahead. The 6600gt has 8 pipelines and is 128bit. The 6800 has 12 pipelines and is 256bit. Also if you have all the money just go for the 6800 Nu

If you take the brand eVGA, AGP versions on www.newegg.com for example, the 6800 is $285 whereas the 6600GT is $219.
