Hey guys. Im looking for a good cpu cooler/fan/heatsink/ whatever else. I dont know which kind to by, I.E., the sockets?

second question. I have 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM. How much can i add? another 512 mb? im at about a steady 85% on ram usage. it does go higher though, and i fear it might be a problem sometime.

machine specs-
512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM
2.8GHz(HT)Intel pentium 4
80 GB UDMA hard drive(7200 rpm).
128Mb ddr ati radeon 9200 SE(should i update? i play CS stream, doom 3 etc. seems fine, but will newer games be too much)?

85% usage seems a bit high if you're NOT using any programs.

next time you boot up your puter, hit control-alt-delete.

that will bring up your task manager.

click on your Processes tab and look and see what is "hogging" up your system.

if it's still using up that much when it's doing nothing, then that's a problem.

have you installed any new programs or hardware lately?

sometimes it could be spyware...you might want to try to dl Ad-Aware SE and get rid of some of the nasties off your puter.

but really, 512mb is enough (now) for most games out there, but adding a bit more could really help.

since i don't know your mobo, i can't tell you how much room you have for upgrades.

but, if you're running a 2.8 P4, i'll bet you definately can add another 512mb stick of RAM.....how many memory slots do you have?

download this

CPU-Z

home edition, and you will find out oh so much things about your system.

then tell us what you have!

good luck.

hey i downloaded it, what do you want to know? Also, now that my computer has been running for about 4 hours, RAM is at about 50 %. Im not sure why it was so high last time. But for motherboard name, it says "unknown". for my cpu it says intel pentium 4HT,2800 mhz(14x200). its a 478 pin upga. my cpu runs at 32*, mobo 33*. i have a dual DDR SDRAM, so i can put 2 512 MB ram in there i figure, or ive heard.

Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer INC.

Product 'P4SD-LE'

thats what everest is telling me for my mobo.
