hello

recently bought a new pc, with 200GB, only 127GB is recognised by XP because i dont have service pack 2. im told i cant just install XP SP2 after installing XP to free up the space. ive read there may be some way to free up the space by partioning but dont understand. any ideas?

also i partitioned the C: drive to 5GB by accident, now it wont let delete it because it needs files on there to continue setup or something. is there any way the change the size? or reset it to all unpartitioned? i have no data to lose.

any help is appreciated

:p

If i were you i would just format the entire thing using a windows XP disc and start again. XP serivce Pack 1.1 is compatable with the large disc sizes so you should be fine.

Maybe you have to flash your bios to get all the disk...

And you can delete your partition with fdisk or with the cd of instalation of win xp I think

EDIT : toasted bye jono :D

im told i need a windows 98 start up disk to get to fdisk, is there anywhere i can download it?

I was waiting for you to back me up. I can't think of x-setup name.

Don't you also know a way to do it in computer managment?
