I am a newbie to these boards and to upgrading computers. I am doing it, primarily, to run multiplayer fps games.
This is the board, according to Belarc Advisor, that I have
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4S533VX REV 1.xx
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. ACPI BIOS Revision 1001 08/20/2002
I'm currently running a P4 2.4 on that, and wondered if I needed to urgently upgrade that, or if that's fine for what I want it to do. Incidentally, though, what's the biggest/fastest P4 that would work on that existing board.
Main question, however, is RAM. I currently have 256 Mb but I don't know what speed that is. I want to put as much memory as I can onto this setup without causing any problems. There are three DIMM slots in total on the motherboard.
Any ideas. Please help.
