New PC graphics card choice

I am going to purchase a new computer quite soon hopefully within a week the specs im getting for certain are as follows:
CPU:Athlon 2600XP
RAM:512MB DDR333 RAM
HDD: Western Digital 40GB HDD
OPTICAL: Lite-On CD-RW
MOBO: ECS KT600-A

Now my dilemma the PC comes standard with a GeCube Radeon 9550 128MB and I wanted to know whether it is worth the approximately AU$100 to change that to a XpertVsion 9800SE.

Will the PC be able to run HAlf Life 2 reasoably on low settings with the 9550 and what kind of increase will there be with the 9800SE

I run Halflife 2 on A 9600Pro at Medium it is quite playable. Im sure there will be a noticable preformance boost if you upgrade to a 9800se, But the card won't last very long in the long run. rather save and later upgrade to a 6600gt or something
