Cheaper / More Expensive ?

Is it cheaper or more expensive building your own computer?

Im pretty sure its cheaper but my mum keeps telling me its gonna cost me more lol

If you build it yourself then you can find the cheapest prices on each part...as long as you know what your doing.

Its is cheaper but in the UK you have to pay VAT (as you should know). If you want to make it really cheap the import it from europe.

it seems like everyone is building computers these days... I started when I was 14

but these days 11 year olds are buying parts...

It is alot cheaper to build your own pc. I also started when I was 14 (and i still am, lol)

ive never built a computer before and it seems fairly simple. Hardest bit for me would probaly be getting the OS installed i think and fiddling with the BIOS.

Actually, if you want a "junker" you should probably buy a premade one because you can get some of those for dirt cheap. As for building a mediocre~hardcore computer, you'll want to build your own definitely. I built a computer that cost me about $1400 or so including a flat panel LCD. If you were to buy the same thing from a company, it'd cost you over $2500 or $3000.
