oh yeah, im building it in stages becuase i cant afford to get it all at once. so how would i know whether my motherboard is working when it arrives bearing in mind im only going to have the mobo, memory and power supply. Is there a way to test it

well, the mobo does NOT have on-board video, so you'll NEED a video card so you can see what's on the screen.

but don't make the mistake i did......

whatever stick of RAM you got, make sure when you want to add another stick later down the road to get the EXACT same stick.

so i would guess as long as you have the mobo, memory, psu, and video card, you can test it out...oh yeah and of course the CPU!

yeah i will get the exact same stick. Its gotta be same model number, brand and everything i beleive.

I think im just going to risk getting the mobo and memory first, if i find its a dead motherboard i will have to send it back.
