CD-ROM Issue

Do I need a device driver for an old cd-rom or will my motherboard pick it up and take care of it?

Also, whenever I play an online game, or something with precise graphics, my fans start to run really fast with a lot of noise. Would adding more fans help with this or does anyone know about any good liquid coolant system?

if you have xp it should go along with it but if you dont you might have to use the drivers

The fan thing : The fans most likely have a thermometre (SP TIRED ) and they will go faster when the temperature goes up. More fans could potentially help, yes.
