error checking is inside the c: drive properties. do a complete scan or if you have norton utilities, use the disk doctor.

No kidding. The only way I have ever gotten rid of Gator completely is regedit and doing a manual search. Usaully there is VERY VERY many instances.

sometimes if i can't delete i try to cut and paste it to a totally different location, then delete it. sometimes if i need to replace a file i do so as well

Format C: Reinstall OS <----Ultimate Fix.... LOL Anyway..what OS are you useing?? 2000? What is first 3 listings in your pic?? That Normal? Never heard of those programs.

I ain't formating over a simple matter! I am using Windows XP Professional and those 1st 3 listings are my AOL Instant Messanger stuff! (2 Instant Messages)

Don't worry, I went through the RegEdit and I cleaned everything with Win32US.exe and man there was a lot of it! Then I went to my Add/Remove Programs and at the bottom I saw win32us as a Program to remove so I removed that and a Win32 BI I also Removed! I then searched GAIN and Gator through my Regedit and cleaned out anything that it could fine!

also I would say go into command prompt and delete it there?
and RUN liveupdate on Nortons.
