Build in progress .... need help!

The last of my parts for my first build arrived today. I've got it together and can get the power to come up ... but can't get past that point.

I've got the Raid Driver for my hard drive installed in the floppy drive. The power light is on on the floppy drive, but I can't tell that it is doing anything. Can some one give me some guidance or point me to a source of info to get me started?

Here is my build sheet

My video card is Radeon 9800 256 8X AGP

What exactly does it do after the you turn it on? You said it powers up, but not much else. Does the monitor give you a picture? Does it only run for 3 secs then turn off? Do all of your fans spin up and all that?

List exactly what it does and what you are stuck on, then the problem will be easier to roubleshoot.

Yes, all te fans run. The LED's on my MOBO stay lit up as do the ones on my drives. I have never got any thing to show up on the monitor.

I've checked and rechecked to make sure the video card is seated correctly. The monitor is on, and is securely connected to the video card.

Sounds like a video problem. You're sure the video card works? Try running it in another computer if possible. And make sure your connections are all really good. Some video cards need direct feed of power from PSU, see if your does and make sure its plugged in.

Yea, it works. I just took it out of the machine I am using now yesterday. It is connected to power ... but I will take it out and start over.

I took the video card out of the one I am building and put back in this machine ... it works fine. I put the other card from this machine in my build ... still nothing. Both video cards are good and work in THIS computer ... just not in my build. Any ideas?

AGP slot might be shot. mobo might be half dead. do you have a multimeter to check power?

Man I really hope not! Yes, I have a multimeter... where and how do I test for power?

I know the video card is getting juice ... the pig tail that comes off it is supplying power to my CD drive.
