On school there is a great network, if you go on a computer you will get new drives like F:\, G:\ etc, those drives are on the network...

@ home I've got a little network, and I want to make a "share-drive" like that, does anybody know how to do that?
everything is welcome!!
[I know I'm a noob!!]

What you are talking about is mapping an network drive. What OS are you using, and what network protocol do you use?

With that info, I can give you a walkthrough of the whole process..

On all computers I've got winXP pro.
I'm using an q-tech 8port 10/100mbit network switch.
[network protocol?? where I can find that??]

well Windows XP Pro is an excellent OS for networking, just run the "network wizard" it should be in the "network places" on the left side

right click on your drives, go to properties then click on "sharing" then click where it says the "If you understand the risks but still wish to share your drives click here" and if you want to add files and stuff from other computers click on "allow network users to change my files"

don't bother with the warning of risks you know what goes around with your computers

yes, that's working, but it's not a new drive on the other computer, it's just a share-dir in \\[computername]
