DVD to Desk Top

Hello, i am trying to copy a dvd to my desk top so i can break it into different clips and send it over the email to a friend of mine...but i am having problems figuring out how to get the dvd onto my desktop with the basic porgrams i have...if someone can help me out i would be greatful...if you have a link for me that would help me out or where i can download a free program to do what i'm trying to do that would be great...

You can use DivX ( http://www.download.com/DivX-Player-with-DivX-Pro-Codec-/3000-2194_4-10316157.html?tag=lst-0-3 ) to convert the DVD to .AVI format. Then you can use WinRAR ( http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10333802.html?tag=lst-0-1 ) to compress and break the .AVI file up into many smaller files so that you will be able to send them via email. Hope this helps.

You can also avoid using and downloading WinRAR and just send the entire .AVI regardless of your friend's inbox size using www.yousendit.com . Just make sure that the .AVI file is LESS THAN 1GB in size.

Try DVD Shrink. Rip the DVD and put it in a WinRAR file and break it up into pices, then send it via www.yousendit.com .
