Im gonna OC my system when i get it but heaps of people keep talking about awsom ram being needed for decent CPU OC's i was wondering if anyone could tell me how ram makes a differance and how i can tell if its good for overclocking,

You only need awesome RAM if you overclock the RAM which would mean you've pushed the CPU FSB Past 200

200x2 = 400 = DDR400

So you see if you push it past 200 you are then pushing the RAM beyond it's normal settings.

For just a CPU OC you should raise the multiplier incrementally but be aware that when you raise the multiplier by .5when your CPU Frequency is at 200 then you're raising your CPU clock by 100MHz each time.

Other than that, good RAM is NOT needed for a good CPU overclock.

I have kingston ValueRAM and I'm OC'd from 1.8GHz to 2.5GHz and it has no effect on my RAM at all.
