I've heard there are compatibility problems between the 775 mainboard and PCI-Express graphic cards. I have an Asus P2AD5 deluxe mainboard and a Club 3d ATI X800XT PCI Express graphic card. My PC crashes regularly when using 3d applications like playing HalfLife2 or running Futuremark 3dMark benchmark test. There is no temperature problem with graphic card, CPU or hard drives, and I have the newest ATI drivers installed (Catalyst 4.12). Other system specs:

Pentium 4 3.6 GHz
DirectX 9.0c
1.024GHz TwinMoos DDR Memory
420 watt power supply
SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Windows XP Pro...have not installed SP 2 yet

Any ideas why my system keeps crashing?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would try Memtest and trouble shoot your memory.I had this problem and a bad stick of memory was the culprit.Follow the instructions and create a bootable floppy. The best test if no errors occur right away is let it run overnight.

Suspected this a couple of weeks back and exchanged memory. Problem persisted unfortunately.

So you don't think there is a compatibility issue between PCI Express Card graphics card and mainboard?
