Which monitor should i get?

i can afford either, but nothing more expensive. I am not really an avid gamer, but i do spend a little time on them. I watch a lot of dvds. I also use photoshop to design webpages a lot.

The samsung has a higher resolution then the NEC. I've had a few NEC monitors and they work very well can look very nice. But I think in this case I would go with the Samsung.

I know Apple and Alien use Mitsubishi tubes...

IMHO Sony Trinitron's the best.

i would go with the NEC. ive heard good things about NEC CRT monitors.

the Samsung has higher resolution, therefore higher refresh rates, i personally would go with the samsung, but read a few reviews first, just to get a "proffessional" oppinion on both of them.

i have a nec 17" crt monitor, and love it.

Both brands are relitivly reputable but the samsung has better specs and looks so much better
