Hi guys,

Changed PSU, GFX, RAM, CPU, cables, HD.

Only 2 things I didn't change: Mobo+CMOS battery.

Could an empty CMOS battery keep the computer from booting? Or did my mobo die?

I will replace the mobo as soon as posssible.

(I will buy this old IBM P2 400MHz because I need a comp ASAP)

P.S. I will contact you if I need any free parts, I still want a faster/better comp, because this is an IBM :D Kinda busy so can take some time.

oh... ok.. makes sense... no i don't think it's the cmos battery... has to be the motherboard... my friend's cmos battery died once and all it did was mess up the time and date and other stuff related to that.

"Could an empty CMOS battery keep the computer from booting?"

Nope! All settings in the BIOS will be restored to their default values.

Gonna replace mobo.. it died.

Anybody has a spare socket7 66MHz FSB or higher mobo?

Tnx for replying guys.

i do. Its wierd cause it has an ATX AND an At power conector. its still a socket 7 mobo and can handle a 366 procesor all the way down to a 75mhz.
