Volume control on task bar...Not there.. HELP!!

Just made the jump to XP Home...I know home was a mistake but thats it for now.

I can't get the volume control beside the clock. I have tried all the instructions and I don't even have the option of adding it.

I have a Sound Blaster Live with XP drivers installed..

go to control panel, then speech, sound (or sumthing like that),..then change speaker settings...you should see it waiting to be checked.
