I would also go with Kingston Dual Channel Ram. That Hard Drive is the type you need. I highly recommend getting 10000rpm SATA, but if you cant offered it its not a big deal.

I would say his Corsair is good. I think the best brands are OCZ, Corsair, Kingston in that order. I got a kingston value RAM and it's good but most reviews I've seen show OCZ and corsair as better. Also, of course it'd be nice if everyone could get a 10,000RPM but that's way too expensive considering he's getting an 80gb for $60 compared to $175 for a 75gb 10,000RPM so money is a factor here.

I really suggest you go with the ABit AV8-3rd eye for that or the MSI neo2-platinum, both boards are good can't go wrong with either.

The mobo and vid-card are not compatible. (one is agp, other is pci-e.)

This is correct. You want to get an AGP 8x video card (well not like they make an AGP 4x X700 but you know what I mean ) Anywho..you definitely don't want to accidentally buy that PCI-Express card
