is this power supply enough?

hey quick question is a stock 400w power supply enough to handle an amd althon 64 3000+. the power supply comes stock in a rosewill case i want i wont have very many if any additional cards for a while i will be using a old pci nvidia card till i can get a better one and no sound card will just use onboard do u think i should upgrade the power supply or wait till i add a vid card?

no way! i would get a raidmax, future power or especially antec. I highly recommend an antec PSU

you also have to factor in harddrives, fans, optical drives, etc... but for a basic machine with a 3000, that should be more than enough. look at all i'm running in my sig with a stock 420 PSU.

Yeah, I would suggest a Raidmax case, I love mine, and also, the Antec PSU's are nice. But to answer the initial question, yes, 400 would work.

As long as you dont add to many extra's. ( lights fans etc ). Also from what I hear DVD burners use alot of power. Any custom built system I would recomend atleast a 500W but if you're not going to add many extra's then yes; 400W should be enough
