Useful DOS restoration commands

Please post the DOS command lines that you know can help in restoring your Windows system to a working state

Ex:

1. Damaged MBR
Through MS startup disk: fdisk /mbr (Works with Win 98SE)

I dont think there's any command other than the fdisk.

restore backup system registry info for older os

also attrib -<r a s or h depending on whats needed or +r to re attrib it)

also extract then cab name and its location and the destination and file needed.

then on newer there is fixboot and fixmbr (like fdisk /mbr)
