Asus... i've had nothing but good luck with them.
chipsets are the same... it's about the same either way you go... asus has a bit better audio... ehhh no real dif. that i can tell... i'll stick to my good luck with asus.

I hate ASUS. Their quality in motherboard manufacturering has gone down. They aren't what they used to be. Beyond that their tech support is basically nonexistant unless you speak taiwanese then you're good to go.

ABit and MSI are far better brands than ASUS IMO..

The ABit AV8-3rd Eye and MSI Neo2-Platinum are both really good boards. Both having lots of options in the BIOS that'll keep you busy for a while. ABit has uGuru to monitor temps and things like that. It can also do basic overclocking. It's a really good program they've utilized that board with.

MSI Has Corecenter...also good, but not as good as uGuru in that the overclocking functions are even MORE basic, but if you really want to OC you should be in the BIOS anyway.

MSI Has 8 channel audio, ABIt has 6 channel, MSI has dual onboard lan, don't think ABit does.

IMO I say you choose either the AV8-3rd eye or MSI Neo2-platinum.

i would go with Abit AV8. Abit is nothing but good quality Motherboards! with SATA!
