IDE problem

OK heres what the computer says when i try to start up.

Ide Channel 0 Master: my hard drive
Ide Channel 0 Slave: None
Ide channel 1 Master: None(should be my cd drive)
Ide channel 1 slave: None
Ide channel 2 master: None
Ide channel 3 master: none

Then it goes on to say disk boot failure please insert disk, and well i cant because the cd drive is not being recognized for some reason.

remove the IDE PCI card, looks like you have one. also, if on channel select make sure its at the end of the ribbon cable, otherwise make sure you have master choose OR if its listed SD (for single drive) on the HDD jumper.

i dont have a pci card and its on master for single drive, im not sure what u mean by channel select at the end of the ribbon.

CS=Cable select

Configure your harddrive to CS and put it on the end of ur cable. Or use MASTER.
