Good computer? If not, tell me what parts to get.

Hey persianxballer, looks like a good computer. My tip would be to completely make sure your mobo is congruent to your CPU. Also a suggestion would be to look at Newegg, and buy a 2.8EE instead of regular 2.8. There should be a sale for that product. And yes you should be able to run all the newest games. Maybe not at there ULTRA highest settings. But at the High Settings of yes.

If you are going more to the gaming, then an AMD machine would be better, they are also cheaper than an intel of the same specs. For your psu, make sure the voltage rails are high.

You would see a performace increase if you went to an AMD XP 3000+, with an amd mobo, and a gig of ram, it should cost you about the same as what you have there.

This computer will be more for school work and multitasking. However, I will be playing games maybe three days out of the week, and I want to be able to play the best games when I play.

With all this talk about the AMD 64, is there a point with going Intel anymore. I'm really iffy on whether I should go AMD or Intel.
