pci IDE slower?

I think I might have a problem with my HDD controller. If I install an IDE add-on pci Card, will my computer run as fast as it did? Or will the HDD run slower? (My current HDD is PATA 133)

It should be about the same speed. I haven't tried it myself though.

Both should be able to reach about ~126MB/s
