opinions on setup

g'day
im considering the following setup, the computer will be mainly used for gaming so im looking for a setup that will be able to handle new games, any opinions welcome

Gigabyte K7-Triton GA-7S748 motherboard (already own this motherboard so thought i would use it, can exchange for a p4 board though)
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1gb DDR400 PC3200 A-Data

i am looking at spending around 200-300 on a graph card so i was looking at getting a
Gigabyte AGP 128 ATI 9600XT Ultra Radeon
or
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600XT Atlantis 256MB DDR
or
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800SE Atlantis 128MB DDR

this is just a rough list of the vital components

oh and the cpu would be the 400fsb not 333

stay away from the 9600 and stay away from the SE's....

nvidia 6600gt is the best 200-300 card you can get. way better than 9800xt so that means its better than the ones you listed. Well atleast thats what all the reviews say.

okay thanks for that, and also the cpu would be 32 not 64 as the motherboard does not support a 64 chip, is there much difference between the two cpus?

Yeah, go with the 6600gt. Right now there isn't a decent version of 64 windows so they're basically useless.
