So, my current UPS, an APC 650VA seems to be dieing a slow death due to repeated relay clicking... The other day it got stuck on and wouldn't kick off till the unit completely powered down. I have only ever used an UPS for one thing, short term blackouts that last about a minute at the longest, never have I had the power go out fully, at least, not in the last few years. Not looking for the longest run time, but wouldn't hurt to have something that could last ~10 minutes while I get to the closet to start shutting my host down.

Specs of the computer that must be powered are in signature below, on top of that, an HP2824 switch, cheap LCD monitor, and a modem rated for 35w will also be on the backup side of the unit.

I have been eyeballing a few units, but reviews lead me to be kinda bleh, I like features of one unit, but dislike other aspects, and vice verse on other units...

Supposedly has issues with APFC power supplies, granted my current UPS should as well but it doesn't... But, it has a battery expansion pack, which I can add on at a later date should I need more capacity.

I am also looking at the following, which supposedly has a nearly true Sinewave output that's compatible with modern power supplies, but, doesn't have battery expansion, and to be honest, I like the APC name... It also costs a little more, but not nearly as much as an APC SmartUPS... https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-C...pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483735048&sr=1-9&keywords=UPS

So, any recomendations on an UPS? Which should I pick between those two units, or do I really need a bigger unit?

Ended up going for the APC unit in hopes that I don't have any issues with APFC, and if I don't have issues, I can easily order a battery expansion. >.> Thread can be closed/pruned.
