Education advise...IT Security specialist

Hello. Dallas is my name, technolgy is my game. However, I'm looking at taking a new career path and I am not sure how to proceed. I would like to get the advise of actual IT Security specialists or managers.

I am 34 and may have plateaued in my current career as an electromechanical manufacturing and repair technican. I have spend 15 yrs workng up to this point.

I currently have an A.S. in Elec and Comp Eng. and looking at getting into the IT Security world.

In your professional opinion, what do you look for in the way of education?

Should i go for certifications......another A.S........a B.S. or combo?

Certifications are always the big portion combined with experience. Your degree is already a science degree, so getting a new degree probably wouldn't pay off much. The certs are really where it's at.
