Q about Norton Internet Security

My mom's got a decent amount of spyware on her computer. Recently, she got this toolbar that has integrated itself in the windows explorer shell, as well as IE. I want to get her Internet Security for Christmas, but I just want to be sure that there's a utility in it that will eliminate existing spyware. Is it already integrated into the Antivirus or what?

Nope it won't. Use Ad-aware to eliminate that nasty bugger.

I got part of it using Ad-aware, which I've used for along time. I scanned the registry and the entire harddrive and I got part of the search bar (a bottom half filled with links), but not the search bar itself. I'm going to update Ad-aware and tell my mom only to surf using SpywareBlaster from now on. I'll get that other program, too.
Can you give me the URL of a decent free firewall? It'll save me $70...
