So I got my sweet Asus R9 280x Duo OC running smoothly, overclocked at 1150 mhz, but that amazingly price polaris card caught my eye. Is it worth paying 200 euros or should i w8 for the gtx 1060 or even the next gen of gpus?

280x is old tech. Basically you're running performance from 2012 (when the 7970 came out). If you can afford it either grab yourself a 480 or wait for the 1060. Your call.

Well I ddi t feel the bottleneck yet , as I can actually run almost everything. But as you said, is an old tech, and soon ill have to upgrade eigther way.

Which one do you guys recomendo between the pascal tech from nvidia and polaris?

Pascal is a better GPU and is a higher tier than Polaris respectively, but we don't have real reviews of Polaris yet and Nvidia's low mid-tier 1060 isn't out yet either. Might have to wait till closer to the holiday season before we see those cards start rolling out as they haven't even released the 1070 yet. In that regard if you're happy with AMD drivers and don't want to wait it'd be fine to get a 480.

The 1080 and 1070 are for now out of my budget. I would preferia to get 480 and then later another one to run xF. But idk If the 1060 Will be a better dela or not ( despiste being almost 7 moths till release).

I guess ill w8 for the benchmarks on the 480 and If it stands to the performance they claim it has, ill get myself one.

Thanks for the opinions ;)

Judging by their shader tiers I'd say a 1060 will perform a little better than a 980 and the RX480 will be about the same considering it's rumored as Fury (non X) performance. My educated guess will be the 1060 comes out starting around 275 or 250 making the AMD card a cheaper option. Of course I could be wrong. It could end up looking like this:

P100 = 700-1000 GPU king Q1 2017
P104-400 (1080) = 599MSRP drop to 500 dollar pricing SLI 980 performance
P104-200 (1070) = 375MSRP drop to 300 dollar pricing with TItan X performance
^^^^ Those we already know

P104-100 or P106 top sku (1060) = 250ish GPU with 980-980ti performance
P106/P107 low sku (1050-1050ti) = sub200 980 performance

Won't know until later and they release information. When Nvidia talks with us we talk Quadro and HEDT segment so they never share info on lower SKUs. Your best bet is to just get an RX480 as it'll come sooner rather than later like the 1060. I also feel the 1060 will be more expensive.

Oh one other thing, pricing and availability seem to be a bit higher for Nvidia outside of the US. So, the 480 has that going too.

AMD = Crossfire.
