carnageX Private Joker, Staff member Messages 25,056 Location Oregon May 1, 2016 #12 I would suggest not doing that on the same PC then . Deep Scan is a pretty intensive process in itself. Plus...if you're trying to recover something...why are you actively using the PC while attempting the recovery?

carnageX Private Joker, Staff member Messages 25,056 Location Oregon May 2, 2016 #14 Honestly not much info out there about it besides this from the Win10 SDK: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION (0x154) The store component caught an unexpected exception. PARAMETERS 1 - Pointer to the store context or data manager 2 - Exception information 3 - Reserved 4 - Reserved Click to expand... Did you check your Event Viewer for a more in-depth log of the crash?

Click to expand... Could possibly be that Recuva was hitting the bad blocks during the deep scan then and for some reason the store exception was popping.
