Reinstall Error

I have Windows XP (came bundled with the system.) I installed XP Office several weeks ago. Just a couple of days ago, I clicked on my "Registry Mechanic" software and a message came up "Windows Installer - Preparing to Reinstall" and then came a message re "Preparing to install MS Office."

How do I PERMANENTLY get rid of this

I have searched forums and sites and not found an explanation for what's happening, or a fix that will stick!

Let it install over. It doesn't require any office disks or anything. The installation itself should take less than a minute, after that everything will go back to normal.
