PSU should be fine. I'm running my system off of a 7 year old Corsair 520hx.

Have you tried an older driver version? Do you also have the Catalyst drivers installed for the AMD part of your system? If so...could be conflicts happening.

maybe try task manager and see what it is eating up all your cpu. maybe check if any part is over heating.

Don't worry about it guys, I've returned it and bought an Asus Strix R7 370 2GB OC, trying to stay away from Nvidia for a while. Thanks to all of you for trying to help me!

That was kinda dumb, but to each their own. All you need to do was roll back the driver. Mine does this even when I'm sitting there on Chrome for no reason at all.
