setting up Citrix server from scratch???

Has anyone set up XenServer and XenCenter from scratch? or give me a hand.

I have a microserver gen8 and have installed XenServer on a USB stick, and have a RAID 10, LV 2TB.

When on XenCenter, I do not see the LV or drives automatically, but I can mount each drive separately as local storage via the console.

Is is possible to attach the LV? or does Xenserver not support RAID in this way?

I have googled all day long and cant figure it out.

I've never built a Citrix server before.

May or may not be related to what you're doing... but gonna throw this up: Citrix hosted apps are awful and should go away.

Both from an IT standpoint because they're a terrible thing to troubleshoot...as well from a development standpoint because they're terrible to troubleshoot .

Hey people,

Figured it out finally!

I have hardware RAID, however I needed to config a software RAID (mdadm?) on the XenServer.
Using this guide Building Out XenServer 6.5 with USB Boot and Software RAID 10 | MangoLassi

Not sure how these two RAIDs come together if they do at all?!

So all working now!

with regards to Citrix hosted apps - tell me about it! my Infra team just moved to this for our IT tools and its a headache!! so many issues and like you said been having a hard time troubleshooting it ourselves lol.

I'm using this to just host some VMs on a server.
