CPU Thermal Throttling?

I'm at work now and will have time tonight around 8pm GMT to try all of the above and report back.

Hi,

So I thought I'd run the MSI Afterburner test before reinstalling the cooler and according to it the CPU didn't fall below 100% usage at all? Also on the Heavyload test the graph there didn't show any problems but the task manager was still showing the cycle on all individual cores. I ran Prime95 with the same results.

Is it possible that the fan (with its speeding up and down) and CPU reading in task manager are faulty?

Yea looks like it's reporting incorrectly which is what I was figuring after seeing Coretemp at 100%. If the fan is speeding up and down like that you haven't set it right.

I have tried swapping the fans around on different headers again and changed the fan setting in the BIOS with no joy but as there is no real problem I'm in no massive hurry to fix it.
