It has a built in AD blocker and popup blocker, it just doesn't close any new windows being opened it WORKS. I love it, not to mention I haven't seen a ad or pop up in along time.
another nice software is ad-aware 6. the ad-watch plug-in is tweakable and you can configure it as to how you want it to handle pop-ups. makes a snap shot of your registry to prevent spyware from installing itself into your system.
btw Promoxitron is comletely free and extremely effective, customizable and has a low resource impact. The ability to block a wide variety and manage outgoing data, identity, redirection, and other _many_ controls are much better than some of the "block pop-ups checkbox" native with some browsers.
I use Proxomitron in combo w/ Ad-aware, and trojanfinder. Google was cool, but then they got bad - as in tracking cookies that last until 2032 that identify the serial number of your hard drive. Ties to the US government and other data tracking and logging of customers have been allegations, which have been gaining in strength. The google toolbar is supposedly even more invasive than other spyware. (Gator Corp should just ... die, imho) Will post more links on the subject when I find 'em here.
