OK last night I put Windows XP Professional on my computer, and it was all working fine. However, this morning when I turned on the computer as usual, the sound didn't work! It's just stopped working. I know it worked before, and I even heard the logoff sound as I shut it down. It's a bit wierd. Can anyone help me get it to work again? I've tried messing with the volume controls and stuff but it doesn't seem to want to work.

Thanks in advance.

Before I put XP Professional on I was running XP Home, and the sound worked fine in that.

The computer is a dual boot with Windows 98SE and XP Professional on it.

does your sound work with 98se....go into the device manager and see if there is any problems with the devices....

If you have onboard sound, and you are trying to use a removable sound card, then disable the onboard one. Double check the obvious checks, like is it plugged in, is the volume high enuf, is the windows volume high enuf.
