Newegg carries Socekt 478 Pentium M 7xx. Since they are Socket 478, why the hell do I need to buy a $270 Socket 479 MOBO based on an ancient chipset when I can run the Pentium M in the Socket 478 MOBO, something like a DFI Lanparty 875Pro. Will a Socket 478 Pentium M run in a desktop Socket 478 board?

I would say yes since its the same socket, maybe on a diffrent site you can find more information on that mobo. It might say it supports it.

i dont use intel, but I am guessing that it would work. I would keyword it on google to make sure.

You possibly may need a BIOS update if your motherboard maybe doesn't support it? Maybe you should contact the mobo manufactorer?
