Confused about 754 & 939??

I am just confused about these 2 diff socket types. I know that the 939 is better in the long run but the 754 is not? Is this true? 939 is more expensive but say I buy the 754 Is this socket type less powerful than the 939?

Explain to me the diffrences and stuff

The 754 is not as fast as the 939, and higher-count Sockets seem to be the future of motherboards. So consequently, the 939s will be more expensive.
754 certainly isn't bad, but if you can I'd suggest the 939.

Totally wrong, the diff between the same 754, and 939 chips are like 5-9 $. The 939 is dual channel capable, the 754 is not. The 939 has more opertunities int he future, as AMD will dsicontinue the 754 socket.

754 has better performance than 939 of same speed on typical intel performance apps(photoshop, video, compression)... but very little difference otherwise, go 939

hmm yes 754 seems to have just come out (not literally) and already AMD talks about dumping it. at least the Socket A had it's strong years lol. i would deffinetly go with 939, even if it means waiting a while to upgrade.
