Has good prices on tools, sometimes cheeper then amazon and E-bay. best thing is you can go in store with there online coupon and pick up same day for online prices. I love getting my prescion tools here.

All kinds of geeky goodies. Home of the Arduino in the US. Also has Pi systems.
Lots of odds and ends for the prototyping crowd. Is owned and operated by a young lady that has an EE from MIT so she knows her stuff. Decent prices and top drawer service. Has a lot of tuts on everything they sell in case you get something and get stuck on a project. I buy from there and recommend them.

If it lights up using leds, they got it. The component led section alone is worth a look. I use the ridged strips, AD1's, and the Dream Chaser led strip to name just a few. A recent price increase on the AD1's drove the price up from 1.99 to 2,99 each. Still a bargain as they are bright and come in assorted colors. Great service and really fast shipping. I use them a lot and highly recommend them.

You have to be careful when shopping from overseas vendors. What you think is a bargain gets jacked up when your purchase goes through customs. You're responsible for customs charges.

I buy RC goodies from an outfit called HeliPal based in China. They offer express shipping through DHL. The shipping cost is a little higher, but there's no customs fee surprise BS and you get it in your hands in 4 days. With UPS you may (and most likely will have to) pay an unexpected customs fee when the driver comes with your package. With DHL by the time the gear goes up on the plane, it's already cleared customs. I've had random inspections on a few of my packages. But no delays. I'm usually hot in to a project when I place an order for a part so the expedited shipping is worth the extra cost.

DHL does all their customs brokering in house while UPS farms it out. You get a better deal with DHL.

Bottom line is you have to shop carefully. Make sure you look at overseas vendors web sites in US currency. Read the checkout text closely. If you don't the price may be more than expected and you get left holding the bag on customs fees.
And if the government here has their way online purchases will have tax added to them. Local online buying is already headed in that direction.

Thanks for the tip.

I used to buy form a japan company all my electronic goodies, and even recycled computers and networking parts. I never had a delay, except one package which was a hardware firewall I belive a bulldog ( might be wrong on name but big red 24 port firewall/router) which took 4 aditional weeks to get to me due to customs.

Right now I am looking for a good dependable recycling center which will ship and has what I need

People throw away electronics and donate them all the time, if your savey with a soldering iron, or a de-soldering station, then you can get a lto of parts.

I am saying this because I just picked up two Direct tv DVR, and not only did i get 1tb hdd also cool i/o parts....
