Hello and welcome to DIY electronics projects.

Here we'll discuss soup to nuts about Do It Yourself electronics projects. Anything from designing and building your own widget to repurposing cables to putting kits together to just name a few.

Since we're in with a lot of other threads, please prefix your thread with (Project). Makes your thread easier to find. And the admins will be able to gather up all the (Project) threads when we get a section set aside just for us at a later time. (Tip of the ol propeller beanie to Trotter.)

Give what it is and what it's for in simple layman's terms. We all like to speak geek but a lot of people won't understand what we're talking about. Keep is simple.

Please give an item by item parts list. Be clear about what the part is and where you got them. Some one may be looking for an odd part you're using and not having any luck finding it. A link to parts will be very beneficial for all of us.

Not every one will understand why we'd rather build our own devices instead of buying off the shelf devices. Like Ford, we have a better idea. And we want to do it OUR WAY.
We're here to show off what we're working on, an idea we have, and help trouble shoot. Keep in mind some of the most amazing products came out of some guy's garage.

PICTURES!!! Take pictures. It just takes a second to snap a shot. Please check your picture to make sure it's in focus before you post it. Whether you have a phone camera, tablet camera, or a DSLR, a picture will speak volumes about your project. There's plenty of free or low cost picture hosting sites out there.

Now I'm Joe Nobody and if this post is out of line, feel free to edit it or delete it. It's just some thoughts I threw out there.
