I Have Just Bought a Geforce Fx 128 Mb 5200 and was was wonder how good It is and what it could be compared to i.e. Geforce 3.

The 5200 isn't up to the speed with the GeForce3, as it was designed to be a replacement to the aging GeForce4 MX. The one benefit which comes to mind is its support for DirectX 9 features, and its compliancy. Plus, many GeForce3s didn't feature TwinView support.

Furthermore, a comparison:

GeForce3:

- DirectX 8.0 and OpenGL 1.2 compliant
- Pixel Shaders 1.1 and Vertex Shaders 1.1 support
- 4 rendering pipelines, each with 2 texturing units
- 6.4 GB/sec. bandwidth (Ti 200), 7.36 GB/sec. (original), 8.0 GB/sec. (Ti 500)

FX 5200:

- DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL 1.3 compliant
- Pixel Shaders 2.0 and Vertex Shaders 2.0 support
- 4 rendering pipelines, each with 1 texturing unit
- 6.4 GB/sec. (non-Ultra), 10.4 GB/sec. (Ultra version)

lol dude, thats not right, i just did a check on some stuff and it said the geforce ti 4200 was manufactured by ati tech

what video cards are Geforce3 because i have a Geforce5200 to so what kind of video card would be a better one then that to be playing some MMORPG games.

Any ATI card 9550 and up is better than the 5200 and any NVIDIA 5500 and up is better than the 5200.

The 5200 isnt that bad of a card though, as long as you dont do alot of gaming.

Im not satisfied by the GeForce FX-5200 128MB ... the ATI 9200 is far better i think...

FX-5200 > 9200(se)

I have owned both in the same computer, the 5200 raped the 9200.

I forgot their benchmarks, because this computer was sold off.
