thanks for the food for thought guys appreciate it, i may use my 550ti so i can save for a 980 or something we'll see.

on another note, i'm using a case with no optical drive slot as i never use discs anymore but my question is, how do i install the windows OS if i am using no discs on a new HDD? do i have to clone my current one? and if so, anyone know of up-to-date good cloning programs.

You can clone or you can install Windows from a flash drive.

awesome guys thanks a bunch for the help and out of curiosity how do you save a windows OS intaller onto a flash drive? i've always used discs before so this is just a new fandango for me, i suppose i could use google but i trust you guys more
