I have winXP with SP2 installed and I have an external hard drive which since I installed it (more than six months ago) it appeared as Drive (G:)
At some point and for unknown reasons the computer started identify this drive as Drive (H:) which consequently made my quick launch shortcut invalid at the same time.
Why did that happened? Am I suppose to be worried? Also what does the computer recognizes as Drive (G:) now?
My CR/DVD roms are D: E: F: and then what it was G: now has become H:

Thx.

you have to go into disk management [windows key+ r]> diskmgmt.msc and free up that drive letter. if you just created a new partition or logical drive on your hard disk or installed a new device it might have assigned it to drive D: and bumped all 3 of your cd-rom drives 1 letter up alphbetically. you can change drive letters within that console, if you need more explanation list what is assigned to each drive letter on your computer.
