The HD works. My comp still works. Its just that I cannot load the XP setup program from the disc.

damn long thread, sorry to hear about all this major... Take out the hd and salvage it basically right? That's what I'd do... As long as you're possitive the xp cd worked (no scratches, etc..)... iono man, good luck =/
