switch the printer ON once you installed the drivers, not before that.

and if it shows the exclamation sign again, then right click that and select properties, and select re-install driver, and follow same procedure.

now I can only advice to spend some bucks and get the Windows XP at least you wont be having trouble installing drivers etc. and if they require drivers, they wont be asking for the drivers cd's.
