6 + 2 pin cable mod

So my new GPU came in today. It requires a 6 and an 8 pin cable. Is it okay to take the 6+2 pin cable and just yank the 2 out of their sockets?

That doesn't really change anything because the 8pin won't fit in the 6pin socket anyways.

The 8 pin fits in the 8 pin, and the 6+2 pin fits in the 6 pin without the +2

Looks like a straight 8pin to me. 6+2 cables are detachable.

Its the evga sleeved crap. Idk why they do that. I really hate these cables. They are detached where they plug into the GPU so I just yanked them out of the actual PSU plug socket

Why did you do that? If they're detachable at the GPU then you just leave the 2 unplugged.

I'm a clutter freak and it was messing with my ocd knowing I had dangling cables. But is this "okay" to do?

Should have used a molex pin tool to extract the pins from the molex connector
FrozenCPU Universal Molex Pin Remover - FrozenCPU.com
but that's not the case now, so you'll have to get replacement pins and a crimper, if you still want it to look nice
