well if i get this card im building a computer which is a AV8 Board with AMD 64 3500+ with 500 w Power supply. with 1 gig ram so any of those cards would work good.

2 thumbs up for your next system!!

that's what i plan on building down the road too!!

awesome.

hell, go w/ the 6600GT...but remember, the 6800GT's will come down in price soon.

so i don't know how often you plan to upgrade yer parts...

the AV8 boards look sweet.

the AV8 or AV8 deluxe?

the deluxe has room for 4 gigs of RAM max!! that's awesome!

but if you're trying to stretch your budget, go w/ the 9800Pro now, so you can have some xtra $$ to buy other stuff!

but if you're lookin' for performance....gotta go w/ the 6600GT.

it does come w/ 2 DVI to VGA connectors. dual monitor setups are really great! now that i've gone to 2 monitors, i can never go back to just one.

well, the system gonna cost 1500 dollers. i was planning to get ATI 9800 pro i was looking at one for 279 dollers for months but now i see the 6600 GT gonna get that probally. and ill still save some money. the DVI to VGA connectors mean if you have a VGA connector on ur monitor you plug it in the DVI connector and the connector. Connects to the video card right?... new to the DVI connectors heh sorry.

and yes im gettin the Abit AV8 socket 939.

yeah that's right.

you'll notice when you get the card, just plug the DVI adapter directly to the card and then plug your monitor into that.

it's like LEGOS. fun and easy.

since you are getting a completely fresh system, i would just go w/ the 6600GT, cause it's newer and will compliment the rest of the "fresh" system too.

and when you're in the market for your next LCD monitor, you'll be ahead of the game cause your card will support dual LCD's w/ digital connections. you'd be good to go!

personally I don't like XFX
they don't make very good heatsinks for them; I saw an FX5200 made by XFX compared to another, not sure what brand, but it had a smaller heatsink, but it actually cooled better than the XFX heatsink

I would try and get eVGA, BFG or Albatron

The 6600GT just came out on AGP so XFX is the only company that makes it with good quality.

very nice setup! i'm jealous.

good

cheap

black

monitor.....

take your pick

Black CRT's

don't know what you want to spend but i have this monitor, but 17"

NEC/Mitsubishi 19" hands down, the best monitor i've ever used!

Logitech Cordless MX Duo

if you were to buy the MX510 mouse in stores, it would be about $40-$50...so this seems to be the best deal out there.

but if you're not interested in the cordless setup...then just get the corded ones.

also, in case you were still on the fence about which mobo to get, i would also recommend this

ASuS mobo

excellent, excellent mobo manufacturers!

cheers!
